Mission & VIsion
GWEN’S MISSION IS TO TRANSFORM LIVES BEYOND ABUSE AND TO BRING HOPE, INSPIRATION,
AND EMPOWERMENT TOOLS TO EMPOWER MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN TO LIVE A LIFE BEYOND ABUSE.
Founded in 2012, The Global Women’s Empowerment Network (GWEN) is a nonprofit organization using cutting-edge technology, multimedia programming, and product lines to raise awareness and funds that will support and heal women, men, and children who have suffered abuse of any kind.
GWEN’s online global community
- Provides a safe and judgment-free forum where victims of abuse can connect, communicate, and create. Through self-expression, people can heal and transform beyond the cycle of abuse prohibiting them from experiencing true empowerment.
- Utilizes technology to bridge cultures and people, enabling victims from all corners of the world to overcome abuse in a safe, healing, and empowering environment.
- Produces curriculum and product lines that inspire, educate, and empower those who are ready to heal and to help others heal.
- Collaborates and partners with other organizations to support their missions as well as shining a spotlight on others who are making strides to heal.
GWEN envisions a world free from violence and abuse — a world where men, women, and children grow in mutual respect, support, and love. GWEN is every woman, man, and child who is committed to take a stand for victims of abuse, empower them to find their voice, and allow for that voice to be heard.
Together, we can stand up against violence and take action towards a peaceful way to live.
WHAT IS ABUSE?
Abuse is a cycle that has to be broken, so we feel that it is imperative to include everyone from all cultures and ages who have witnessed or experienced abuse and transform lives through a healing process.
“Every week, every day, every minute, and every second, reality becomes a statistic. Worldwide, women and children are being unbearably and brutally attacked, whether it be emotionally, verbally, sexually, physically, financially, or even spiritually. Manipulation and mutilation scar the human psyche and innocent victims fall prey to the vicious cycle of abuse.
Abuse comes in many forms. Whether physical, sexual, or emotional, abuse scars its victims. In some cases, abuse can be so subtle that victims live for years not realizing how another person compromised their quality of life. Unknowingly, victims can continue the abuse by placing themselves in unsafe places and life-threatening situations. The reality and ramifications of their past and present abuse often elude victims until a third-party steps in to intervene, support, and listen. Too often, it is only then abuse victims can escape the abusive relationship or situation, seek justice, and finally heal.” Tess Cacciatore co-founder of Global Women’s Empowerment Network
